GREENVILLE, —  The seventh annual Wilderness Sled Dog Race scheduled for Feb. 4 in the Moosehead Lake region was cancelled. Disappointed race organizers made the decision to cancel after assessing conditions on the lake and woods trails. The Wilderness Race governing board is committed to running a safe event for everyone and the trail inspection found that despite recent snowfall, conditions were still inadequate to safely run dog teams on the 100-mile and 30-mile race courses.

GREENVILLE — Congressman Mike Michaud (D-Maine) announced that Steven W. Bilodeau, a student at Greenville High School and resident of Greenville, will be offered an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. Michaud nominated Bilodeau, whose appointment letter is expected to arrive in early February.
