        DEXTER — It seemed every time  Dexter would diagnose an answer to the Penquis defense, coach Tony Hamlin would seemingly change the question. Penquis (7-6) used a variety of defensive alignments to confound and contain the Dexter offense, on Jan. 21,  en route to 39-24 boys’ basketball victory.

        DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Foxcroft Academy boys and girls swim teams cruised to double wins over both Presque Isle and Caribou high schools on Jan. 23 at the PRYMCA. The girls defeated Presque Isle 96-48 and Caribou 107-22. The boys bested Presque Isle 99-51 and Caribou 107-25.

  • Dog sled race and winter fun slated for Saturday

    BROWNVILLE — An exciting new event is being sponsored by the Town of Brownville, and The Maine Highlands Sled Dog Club with many community partners. The public is invited to come and join us on Railroad Avenue on Jan. 30 in celebration of winter mushers will come from all over New England to take part in a 30 mile sled dog race that will begin at 10 a.m. and run throughout the day.
