AUGUSTA — Maine’s Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) held their annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Appreciation Day on Aug. 20 to celebrate the busiest year in the history of the Maine CDBG program and recognize over 80 community development professionals from across the state who participated in the program in some way.

Brownville, D-F PDs awarded grants to enforce underage drinking laws |

AUGUSTA — The Maine Office of Substance Abuse of the Department of Health and Human Services recently announced the awarding of grants to 15 law enforcement agencies across the state to target underage drinking. Among the 15 department grants is $8,890.97 for the Brownville Police Department and $9,711.38 for the Dover Foxcroft Police Department — both figures represent the two-year grant cycle.

HARMONY — It is that time of year again. summer is coming to a close, school is starting and folks in Harmony are gearing up for the 63rd Harmony Free Fair. The fair starts Friday, Sept. 3 and runs through Monday (Labor Day) Sept. 6 at the Patriarchs Club Fairgrounds. As usual, it will be a fun filled weekend for the entire family and admission to the fairground and parking are both free.
