    MILO — For nearly a year administrators from SAD 41 schools have been researching the possibility of adding a pre-K program for students who will be 4 by the middle of October. During a Feb. 1 school board meeting Brownville Elementary Principal Lynn Weston and Milo Elementary Principal Eric Smith gave district officials an update on the program, which potentially could start for the 2012-13 academic year.

    HARD-WIRED — Maine School of Science and Mathematics junior Kineo Wallace, from Milo, wires computers at the Sister Mary O’Donnell Homeless Shelter in Presque Isle.
    LIMESTONE — Six students of the Maine School of Science and Mathematics donated their time and expertise on Jan. 15 to install a computer lab at the Sister Mary O’Donnell Homeless Shelter in Presque Isle. The computers for the new lab were contributed by employees of MMG Insurance through an effort spearheaded by Kris Mehta, MMG’s senior programmer/analyst.
